Mixed emotions for Pietersen as England win the match by 6 wickets but lose the series 2-1. It will be a good morale boosting win for the Poms going into the One-off Twenty20 Internationsl and the 5 match ODI series. England after losing the series came out all guns firing to hit a shot in the arms of the relentless Proteas. Clinical victory for England, debutant Test captain Pietersen has smiles all over his face. England did well to bowl out South Africa for 194 runs in the first innings and then piling on a lead of 122 runs. South Africa then overtook the lead and set the Poms a target of 197 which the hosts chased with a session left on the final day. Pietersen was the Man of the Match for his knock of 100 and the Man of the Series for England. Smith was the Man of the Series for South Africa. Thats all from us for the day have a nice time.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the fourth and final Test match between England and South Africa from the Kennington Oval, London. The third Test saw the visitors clinch the series and they will attempt to make it 3 out of 3 here today. However post the third Test a lot of changes have taken place in the England camp. Vaughan stepped down as captain and Kevin Pietersen was named his worthy successor in all formats of the game. All eyes will now be on KP to see how good a job he does as batsman and skipper. It goes without saying that his performance in this Test will set the benchmark for his tenure as skipper to follow. He immediately made his intentions clear by drafting in Stuart Broad and Stephen Harmison going in with four seamers and the lone spinner in Monty Panesar. Bell will reclaim his number three position with the England batting lacking depth. All said and done another classic battle awaits as South Africa look dominating but England, promising. Pietersen will have a tough time as a captain as his first job in his hands will be to win the fourth Test and salvage some pride. The conditions are overcast here with some chances of rain.
